Location: Nassawango Road, Snow Hill, Worcester County, Maryland
The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that
resulted in two fatalities. The crash occurred on Nassawango Road near Camp
Road in the Snow Hill area of Worcester County. The crash was reported at 8:18
p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Initial investigation reveals a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado pickup was traveling south
on Nassawango Road, where it failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway,
colliding with several trees. The operator was identified as Luke Jason Hawthorne,
18, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, and he was pronounced deceased on the scene. A
passenger, Munir Loyan Morris, 18, of Capital Heights, Maryland, was flown by
Maryland State Police Aviation to Tidal Health in Salisbury, where he later died.
There were no other occupants of the vehicle.
During the investigation, it was learned that both were students at the University
of Maryland Eastern Shore. The university was notified and assisted with locating
the families for Hawthorne and Morris.
