6-year-old Virginia boy who shot teacher told witness: ‘I shot that b—h dead’

The 6-year-old boy who shot and wounded his teacher at a Virginia elementary school told a witness, “I shot that b—h dead,” according to court documents unsealed Monday.

Abby Zwerner, the 25-year-old teacher who was wounded at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News on Jan. 6, survived her injuries. She resigned in June.

The boy has not been publicly identified and will not be charged with a crime. His mother, Deja Taylor, reached plea deals surrounding state and federal charges in the case.

According to police documents, Zwerner’s class had returned from recess and been split into reading groups in the minutes before the shooting, local ABC affiliate WRIC reported.

  1. Pot head mom lied about storage of the gun and having/using a trigger lock. Uncertain from anything I’ve seen if dad resides with them although a parent was supposed to be with the kid at school each day. On that day, neither was there. Mom is being sentenced shortly. But it seems clear the kid had intent and took advantage of unsecured gun to bring it to school. Fortunate teacher is recovering and nobody else hurt.

  2. Boy, he had some good raising, huh? This is what comes from homes with no training or responsibility and no teaching their kids any.
