Justice For Gavin?

Now that Travis Mailloux has been served with 17 charges, where’s the manslaughter charges, murder charges? The only real charge has been leaving the scene of an accident.

More importantly, (in my opinion) why did it take this long to file these BS charges. If the states attorney is so confident in the alleged idea that Travis was in fact the driver, these charges could’ve been filed a long time ago.

There’s no mention they know for a fact he was the driver, (even though the masses know in their hearts he was) there would’ve been additional charges as mentioned above.

I’m sorry to say, (for me personally) I’m nowhere near satisfied or confident the Knupp Family will in fact receive “Justice for Gavin”. Simple slaps on the wrist are not good enough.

What’s your thoughts?

  1. Exactly, most charges will be negotiated away leaving a few minor traffic tickets. Gavin and family will never see justice. It’s all about who you are friends with and how wealthy you are.

  2. No murder, it wasn’t premeditated. Be hard to prove manslaughter, as it was an auto accident.
They’d have to prove was drunk and negligent.

Wasn’t Gavin wearing dark clothing and hit on the roadway? Not off the roadway.

Only thing they can prove is leaving the scene of an accident. It sucks, but it’s what it is.

  3. I agree that it took way to long to bring the charges and feel that politics played a major part in this case. Without all the publicity there would probably have never been any charges brought.

  4. Must be reasonable doubt that he may not have been the driver so those more serious charges might not stick in the court of law. I’ve heard that’s what the hold up was…no hard evidence he was actually driving. Without a witness or video evidence at the time of the accident, he could only be placed in the car with cell phone data.

    1. What a stupid thing to say…you seriously think that? There are many “rich people” that are in jail now–that drunk that ran into the guy in OC the other year so hard the car burst into flames and killed the victim…he is very wealthy-owned a successful company, yet where is he?? Division of Corrections, service well over a decade.

  5. Ummmmm.. It should be “What ARE your thoughts?” And ,yes, it does matter. Too many people reading it will think it is acceptable… It is not.

  6. What is JUSTICE in this case.?? Should we cut off his head?.. Jail him for life?.. Torture him with fire?.. All of the above? Will that bring back the deceased? If every accident caused this type of vendetta our world would not last very long.

    1. Good comment. Hence the title with a question mark at the end. What is the Justice for Gavin? I stated from the very beginning, pedestrian laws, (unfortunately) are against Gavin. However, the driver did leave the scene likely knowing they hit a person. My other point has always been, what the hell took so long for charges to be filed and as expected I was not surprised at the BS charges that were in fact filed. The BULLYING that has gone on is not in the kind of spirit I’ve picked up on that Gavin would have wanted. So this post is more about what others are thinking/feeling. Are these charges justice for Gavin?

      1. Since the beginning, elected officials have overlooked the lack of street lighting in OP because nobody wanted to pay for it. It’s always amazed me how how many young kids were left to wait for school buses in total darkness during the early morning hours. Justice for Gavin? Give me a break. Only if safety comes for free.

  7. The true charges and trial will occur in God’ court.

This individual knows for certain he was drunk and he killed this kid. The only reason that charges were even brought at all is due to the large, and insurmountable community uproar. I believe, and this is only my opinion, that without the uproar, this would have faded away and nothing would be done.

As it is, I think these charges were the only ones that could be proven. I’d also be willing to bet they were crafted to protect Ralph and his finances/business interests rather than punishing Tyler. Same goes for the civil side of this, that I bet has already been worked out.

I think that Tyler will plead guilty, get 10 years and the $10k fine. He’ll do less than a year and quietly be let out, then go right back to working for Ralph someplace else.

The community will not get its pound of flesh, and Tyler’s family will never see the justice it deserves in this lifetime.

Having just left church, I’m struck by a passage that remarks how Jesus feels about harming a child. I know I would not quote it correctly, but essentially a very large stone tied around your neck and thrown in the deepest lake would not even be close to the punishment waiting for you.

Tyler – my suggestion is that you come clean and admit everything in court. Better to admit and suffer for the crime you committed, and save your soul than listen to your attorney and suffer for eternity.

  8. Ralph’s neighbor saw him working on the black Mercedes and went to State Police. Alot of employees at the Yacht Club were either drinking with him or getting to watch Tyler, his Mom and Ralph were also drink. Matt knew the entire story. Why can’t all of them be charged for something.

    TYLER KILLED A CHILD

    1. Right on Cathy, and why haven’t charges been brought for hiding evidence (the damaged car)? Obviously there f is more than person responsible for this conspiracy.

  9. Nobody will be happy with the outcome…either side…it is horrific that a child’s life is over, horrific that the accused left the scene…people think he may have been drunk…maybe? maybe not…that will probably never be known unless he admits it. People need to realize that an investigation is not like a TV show, case solved in an hour, less commercial time. How long does DNA, accident reconstruction, canvassing neighborhoods for who might have a Ring camera that captured something, probably thousand of hours of video from businesses, traffic cameras, getting phone records which phone companies always seem to fight. Did it take a long time? Absolutely. Would you rather a half assed investigation happen or to look into everything? Will the trial happen here or somewhere else? I only pray that the family can find some solace, and the guy that did it can’t sleep at night–when he goes to meet his Maker, he will have to explain to God his actions.
