Both candidates in the race for Virginia’s next Governor are at odds over where and when to debate.
Republican Glenn Youngkin says he’ll participate in three debates; Democratic nominee and former Gov. Terry McAuliffe has agreed to participate in five. But, Youngkin backed out of one scheduled for later this month that the Virginia Bar Association was going to host.
Youngkin says he is skipping the Virginia Bar Association debate because of the moderator. According to The Washington Post, it is because of a past donation she made to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund; in 2010, moderator Judy Woodruff made a $250 donation to the fund.
McAuliffe at one time served on the foundation’s board and is a close friend and ally of Bill and Hillary Clinton, the AP reports.
Jeff Roe, Younkin strategist, told the AP the campaign felt Woodruff would be an impartial moderator.
“We’re just not going to debate two-on-one,” Roe said.
Pathetic that @GlennYoungkin doesn't have the courage to meet me on stage at the VBA debate next week.
After a rough month for his campaign, he’s more desperate than ever to hide his right-wing views because he knows how out of step they are with VA. Can’t hide forever Glenn!

Not pathetic, he realizes that the process has been crooked and is taking necessary precautions.
Face it head on and kick ass. Nothing to hide!
