Hey, Julie–Ai says this about what you’re touting to vanity-publish. So proceed at your own peril, but “vanity press” is definitely a very bad idea & makes you look so desperate– maybe you should lawyer up! ******** Use of Confidential Information: Most local ethics laws explicitly prohibit current and former officials from using confidential information acquired during their public service for personal economic benefit (such as selling a book). Executive Session Violations: Local boards and councils regularly meet in closed “executive sessions” to discuss legal advice, property acquisition, or personnel issues. Disclosing the specifics of these sessions can violate local charters and state open-meetings laws, leading to official censures or civil penalties.” |

Thank for posting this “A comment Worthy of a Post”
If she broke the law – prosecute her!
If she didn’t – take joy in the fact that she is no longer the county executive…but we need to remember, we asked for what we are going to get with the new liberal executive and liberal council!
I will take those liberals for the next year instead of the corruption from Witch Maleficent Giordano for another 4 years.
The Republican Club needs to regroup and find decent candidates to run for CE, County Council and to remove Josh Hastings as the lone delegate in Wicomico County.
You mean to tell me the greatest political leader of our lifetime wasn’t aware of this? I find that hard to believe, maybe it’s a outdated law, or maybe she can exclude herself before leaving office I’m sure she has it all under control!! 😉
If she told anyone about the book before, she was probably warned, so she knows there are charter rules preventing any book. She just doesn’t think we’re smart enough to know about the rule – or most likely she doesn’t care as long as she gets what she wants.
Yep, Julie– it’s clear you didn’t read the Wicomico County Code Section 37-13(c) re: ethics/prohibited conduct, to wit:
“Other than in the discharge of official duties, a public official OR FORMER PUBLIC OFFICIAL may not disclose or use confidential information, that the public official acquired by reason of the individual’s public position OR FORMER PUBLIC POSITION and that is not available to the public, for the economic benefit of the public official”
(i.e., that means selling a book, and you marketing it exactly as the Code of Ethics prohibits!)
Well the soon to be former county council is in big ass trouble then!
