Senator Rand Paul Wants to Amend Constitution to Clearly Define “Birthright” Citizenship

The U.S. Supreme Court right now is considering the question of who qualifies for “birthright citizenship” in America.

For decades, it’s been handed out to any child of anyone who is born in the United States, meaning there are a lot of illegal aliens who now have American citizen children, who may or may not have any allegiance at all to the U.S.

President Donald Trump issued an executive order canceling that, because the original constitutional amendment limits such privileges to those “subject to the jurisdiction” of the U.S., and not everyone is.

A lawsuit from leftists followed immediately, and the fight is at the high court now. And while a decision is forthcoming, and could resolve the immediate question, even that might not be sustained for long.

Because one senator has proposed a constitutional amendment to make the status of birthright citizenship clear:
