Tomorrow on May 1st, teacher unions in Chicago have decided to once again hold ‘May Day’ protests, which will obviously be aimed at Trump and all things Republican.
As part of these protests, Chicago Schools are going to allow students to attend, and if they choose to go, they can be shuttled to the protests using tax dollars.
Aside from the fact that a significant number of students in Chicago schools can’t read at grade level, how is any of this even legal?
Using tax dollars to transport students to political protests? Where is the outrage?
Are any taxpaying, Wicomico County voters Ok with this?? Remember that BOE member Susan Beauchamp and wife of an appointed State Delegate voted for this and voted for the approval. How many taxpayers make that kind of salary and perks? Remember that when you vote in June and/November! Vote them out!
Based on a January 2023 report, Dr. Micah Stauffer, the Superintendent of Wicomico County Public Schools, has an annual salary of $205,000.00. His compensation package also included a $9,000 annual vehicle allowance, board-covered medical/dental/vision insurance, and retirement contributions. He was appointed to a second four-year term effective July 1, 2026.
That’s sickening!
