Salisbury man indicted for alleged theft of over $670k from local American Legion

A Salisbury man has been indicted Friday following a Maryland State Police investigation into the theft of over $670,000 from Crisfield American Legion Post 16 in Somerset County.

On Jan. 16, a Somerset County grand jury indicted 56-year-old Donald Lee Waters, of Salisbury, on several charges including theft over $100,000, theft scheme and related financial offenses.

  1. How on earth can someone steal that much before someone notices? Sounds like the Legion has a real management problem to me! There should always be more than one person handling the money.
