Coastal Smokehouse In West OC Officially Opens Thursday

Coastal Smokehouse had their stress test pre opening Tuesday evening. The transformation from the old Hooters to the new Smokehouse is absolutely incredible. We wish them the very best, (especially with Governor Hogan’s restrictions). It’s nice to see someone give Ruth’s Chris a run for their money.

  1. Are they more affordable ? Never went to RUTH”S CHRIS STEAK HOUSE, since I am not a millionaire and could not afford $150 – $200 for a meal for me and my wife. Even though We are retired we couldn’t afford RUTH”S CHRIS when we both were working.

    1. Yes, much more affordable. These guys do a great job delivering top quality food and service. Look, there’s a few different styles of restaurants. You have fast food, then mid range better quality food with limited menu and then there’s the higher end top shelf restaurant. Caribbean Joe’s is the more mid range and Coastal Smokehouse is the high end. Their atmosphere calls for higher prices. It’s not for everyone and this is the type/style they chose to create. Don’t knock them because they are higher priced. They don’t expect each customer to come back every week. Especially during Hogan’s BS 50% rule. Finally, you people need to look around and CHECK your bills when they arrive. There are some local bars charging $6.00 for a domestic beer and $8.00 for a domestic beer after 8 PM. I charge $4.00 for that very same beer. Support your local West Ocean City Bar/Restaurants.

      1. Because of Hogan’s BS 50% rule I now tip 50% to wait staff since they are unable to turn tables. Breakfast we tip even higher percentage because it’s so inexpensive.

  2. The important question is, “How are the ribs?” I will crawl a mile through broken glass and bottles just to taste good ribs. There are a lot of other people like me, BTW.
