Last month I got a Covid test @ Apple Drug in Fruitland. I was told by my primary I could not be seen without a negative test. On getting the test I was charged $70 and told by the pharmacist I had to pay it because they are not accredited to bill for flu shots, Covid shots etc to ins just prescriptions only. I had to get a form from mcr & send my register receipt attached to mcr myself as it is covered by mcr. I found out all the other pharmacies here send to ins & never collect from the patients. I called mcr today & was told WS Assoc billed for the charge- it is another name dab for Apple Drug! They are double billing for these shots collecting from patients the $70 and sending in which they told me that they cannot do. Does this not reflect double billing and lying to patients?

This is a criminal offense! Please contact the Attorney General’s Office and have criminal charges filed against Apple Drugs and the owners, Mr. Richard & Jeff Sherr ASAP!!!! It will be interesting to find out how much they have overcharged other customers illegally?? It is probably in the thousands of dollars and hoew long has this undetected criminal activity been going on???!!!! A local Dentist just got indicted for this type of criminal activity. Such crookery from local business owners!
What primary doctor are you seeing, what is their name? Very odd they are asking for negative covid test.. have not heard before
I jumped that ship when their uninformed staff tried to dupe me on an Epi Pen RX
They dispensed the “brand” instead of the “generic” because there was more money to make on it.
When I questioned it the staff lied and said they do not make the generic anymore.
I cancelled my order and took my RX over to CVS to got the generic for a fraction of the price.
Some of their staff are not informed and not friendly.
Another time I waited over an hour to get a commode and it was nearing closing time. I needed to know if they could help, because if not, I had to try other drug stores and was running out of time. The troll in that department would not even tell me if they had one, so I left and went to the Rite Aid by Acme, who offered me immediate and friendly help.
Another time I could not get an RX filled until the end of December, I put the refill in 2 weeks ahead of time, when I went to pick it up they stated they did not have any on hand and had to order it. Really? I gave you 2 weeks advance notice that the RX was due to be filled and you waited until the last day of the month to review your inventory needs?
Unlike Walmart, at the time, they were not charging you the lowest price available. If my insurance prices was higher than the lowest price, they charged the higher price.
I go to Walmart North and find their staff very helpful – always willing to find affordable solutions and review everything with you.
The Sherr family is getting ready to be put in federal prison. They are the biggest crooks on the Eastern Shore just like the Jones brothers were. One too bites of the apple!
Same thing happened to a friend of mine last month, $70 and they would not take any insurance and made her sit out in the car and wait for the results. It was Negative of course which really surprised the hell out of me since the spouse was in PGH being treated for you guessed it Covid, the spouse spent 5 days in there and the bill was $18,000 and that probably is not the only charges. Now tell me they are not all making a killing off of Covid.
They have a history of double billing customers and pocketing the money. I used to work there and I witnessed Mr. Sherr pocket thousands of dollars to hide it from the IRS for many years. Most of the customers are seniors who are very vulnerable to this type of deception. I was wondering when someone would catch on to his game.
I am going to buy Richard and Jeff Sherr soap on a rope as Christmas presents. They both are sure going to need it in the near future! Ho. Ho, Ho!
I had hoped that Apple Drugs was better than that! It’s good to find out now rather than later.
This sounds a little fishy to me. I just checked medicare and there is no record of my test being billed. I did pay in cash when I got the test.
If you don’t believe that Mcr got a bill from them call & ask if they received a bill for your Covid test under WS Assoc Sherr is the principle owner & address & phones are Apple Drugs. They are telling patients they cannot summit claim for you as they are not accredited with MCR to bill for flu shots or Covid tests that is why they collect the $ from you. I have had to now request my $70 from MCR by filing an appeal form to them, because of this double billing! They are literally taking two bites of the Apple and it is the truth!!
