A pedestrian was transported to a local hospital this week after being hit by a bus in West Ocean City.
On Monday, at approximately 3:30 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the area of Inlet Isle Lane, just west of the Route 50 bridge, for a reported pedestrian collision involving a passenger bus.
The Ocean City Fire Department reports that the bus, carrying approximately 44 people, was traveling westbound when a pedestrian entered the roadway.
First responders were called to the scene, and the pedestrian was transported by ground to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, the fire department shared this week. No injuries were reported among the bus’ occupants.
Pedestrians walk out in front of cars all the time. The law that says “pedestrians have the right of way”has them thinking they are king of the road. It is much easier for a 200 pound pedestrian to stop and look than it is to stop a 3000 pound car. The law needs changing.
