Daryl Hill, 56, intervened in a fight between a man and woman when he was allegedly fatally shot in Apopka
A Florida father who had just dropped off his daughter for her first day of elementary school was shot and killed after trying to intervene in a fight between a man and a woman, police and reports said.
Daryl Hill, 56, now leaves behind his wife, two adult children and his 10-year-old daughter following the incident Tuesday morning near Wolf Lake Elementary School in Apopka, according to FOX 35 Orlando.
“He’s got the biggest heart in the entire world,” Damon Hill, his son, told the station. “He loved everybody… He just loved his fellow person, and he was very non-judgmental.”
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting unfolded after witnesses described seeing a man and woman fighting inside a vehicle, before the vehicle crashed and the brawl spilled outside.
