The Town of Ocean City will not move forward with the acquisition of a 193-acre property to the west of Berlin for the development of a future sports complex. A majority of the Ocean City Council on Monday shared their concerns about either the project or location, as well as intense opposition from neighboring property owners. A motion to pass the first reading of an ordinance, authorizing the Mayor and City Council to purchase the property, failed for lack of a second.
