The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has become persona non grata for an increasing number of Democrat public figures and wacktivists, primarily for having the audacity to oppose candidates who are anti-Israel and/or otherwise work against the safety and security interests of the millions of Jewish people who call America home.
The bad blood between Democrats and AIPAC has gotten so intense that even some Israel-supporting Democrats, including Jewish Dems, have actively worked to distance themselves from AIPAC in the course of their political campaigns. This is something we saw, for instance, in a mid-April announcement from failed Michigan Senate candidate Mallory McMorrow (D), a state senator whose husband is Jewish.
Later that same month, McMorrow would learn the hard way that her coddling did not pay off, revealing that her husband and their young daughter, who they are raising in the Jewish faith, faced antisemitic slurs at the Michigan Democrat endorsement convention. McMorrow, by the way, is now campaigning for Michigan’s Democrat Senate nominee, Abdul El-Sayed.
