SALISBURY, Md. — Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano is pleased to announce that Zaxby’s, one of the nation’s fastest-growing quick-service restaurant chains specializing in hand-breaded chicken fingers, chicken sandwiches, fresh salads, and its signature assortment of dipping sauces, will soon be coming to Wicomico County.
The new restaurant will be located along U.S. Route 13, just before entering the municipal limits of the City of Fruitland, providing residents and travelers with another exciting dining option along one of the county’s busiest commercial corridors.
Founded in Georgia in 1990, Zaxby’s has grown to hundreds of locations across the United States and has earned a loyal following for its made-to-order chicken meals, Zalads®, wings, sandwiches, and family-friendly atmosphere.
“This is another great win for Wicomico County and our residents,” said County Executive Julie Giordano. “The addition of Zaxby’s demonstrates that national brands recognize the strength of our local economy and the tremendous growth opportunities available here. The announcement also highlights the success of Wicomico County’s proactive economic development efforts. Earlier this year, County Executive Giordano joined Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development (SWED) organization and other members of the County at the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) convention, where they met directly with numerous national retailers and restaurant brands interested in expanding into new markets.
Zaxby’s was among the companies visited by the County’s delegation during the ICSC conference. The County continues to build relationships with site selectors, developers, and national retailers to attract additional businesses and create new opportunities for residents.
