In this wonderful time of the year for fishing, it is great to have a mentor who can guide you.

Blue catfish are showing signs of spawning, and fishing for them is good this week. Blue catfish can be found in every tidal river of the Chesapeake Bay, but the Potomac, Patuxent, Nanticoke, Chester, and lower Susquehanna rivers hold the greatest populations.

Fishing for largemouth bass continues to be very good in the freshwater ponds, impoundments, and tidal waters across Maryland.

Flounder continue to move through the channels leading from the Ocean City Inlet into the back bay areas.
