The United States Senate has confirmed Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) as the 9th Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) by a mostly party-line vote, 54-45. Two Democrats crossed the aisle to confirm Mullin: Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM). Fellow Republican and Chairman of the Health, Employment, Labor & Pensions Committee (HELP), Rand Paul (R-KY) was a “no” vote on his confirmation.
As RedState previously reported, Mullin’s confirmation hearing last Wednesday before the HELP Committee had a few spicy moments, the most pointed being his face-off with Chairman Paul. Sen.
