Maryland is suing to stop the U.S. Department of Homeland Security from converting a Washington County warehouse into an immigration enforcement detention center.
DHS and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have plans to open and operate a detention center at a 54-acre warehouse property it bought on Jan. 16 near Williamsport for $102.4 million.
Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown sued the Trump administration on Monday in an effort to stop plans to convert a Washington County warehouse into an immigration detention facility.

Last week Governor Moore signed legislation to ban 287g agreements in the State of Maryland, making the State a “Full On” Sanctuary State for illegal immigration…
Now the “Sue Trump sue” train in the State continues, that has been going on since January 21st, 2025 1 day into the Trump administration returning to the White House, a plan that was hatched in November of 2024 1 week after the election.
Governor Moore has criticized the Trump Administration for federal job cuts, not wanting to put FBI HQ in Prince Georges County, and denying aid to Western Maryland for flooding.
The not working with Trump Administration and resisting, is a top Priority of The States Governor and Attorney General. Governor Moore made the pretty clear in late 2025, with his famous “IDGAF” moment over being criticized over trying to “‘partisan gerrymander” the States Congressional Map.
Meanwhile in Baltimore City, the Sates most “problematic Area” for violent crime. There States Attorney Ivan Bates this week is praising good working “Strategic Partnerships” with Federal Law Enforcement, that just lead to over 200 arrests in the City of violent criminals, thanks to Operation Baltimore Safeguard and “no chaos” in the Streets from it either….
Perhaps the Governor and Attorney General should take a page from State Attorney Bates, who is getting results on reducing violent crime in Baltimore City, meanwhile The Governor and Attorney General’s tactics have lead the State of Maryland to record high Tax and Fee Increases, and record high deficits…..
Again it seems Governor Moore and Attorney General Brown can’t seem to help themselves….
