Minneapolis Anti-ICE Protest Turns Violent, 54 Arrested

What began as an average anti-ICE riot outside a federal building in Minneapolis ended Sunday with more than fifty people in handcuffs, streets littered with broken glass, and officers ducking projectiles hurled by demonstrators who apparently believe that assaulting law enforcement is a legitimate form of civic engagement.

At least 54 people were arrested during a protest outside the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building on March 1, 2026, as demonstrations against Immigration and Customs Enforcement boiled over into what authorities described as an unlawful assembly. The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office reported that 38 individuals were cited and released, while one was booked into jail. The Minnesota State Patrol confirmed 15 additional arrests on top of those figures.
