The State of Maryland, on this long 15 and a half year “debate” of illegal immigration, appears will have a conclusion coming potentially this week. Famously in October of 2010 then Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley coined the phrase “new americans” when it came to undocumented immigrants in the State.
From there Governor O’Malley, the Democrats in the Legislature, their allies at CASA, and Locally elected Democrat County Executives and Mayors worked to make the State one of the most “Pro Illegal Immigration” Sates in the Country. With the Dream Act, Drivers licenses for undocumented immigrants, restrictions on Ice Detainer requests, and later during the Hogan Administration they passed the Dignity not Detention Act. Which Governor Hogan vetoed, however his veto was overridden..
Now “the icing” on the Cake during the Moore Administration, with the potential of banning “287G” agreements where the legislation is on its way to the Governors desk currently. Which will make it harder for Law Enforcement in the State to coordinate and cooperate with ICE, something leaders like Tom Homan and Fredrick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins have said is the opposite of what States should be doing when it comes to immigration laws…
From all of this the State of Maryland has “paid” a heavy price on Public Safety, where MS 13 has some of its top operatives living and operating in Maryland in addition have committed many horrible murders. On education where “the Standards” of the States Public schools have been majorly watered down, and Economically where now the State is paying more for public education than ever before thanks to the Kirwan Blueprint,and The State is going bankrupt trying do it…
The ultimate example of Marylands “Sanctuary Policies” gone bad. On August 5th 2023, in Harford County, MD Rachel Morin a 38 year old mother of 5 went jogging in Bel Air Maryland, and ended up being raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant Victor Martinez-Hernandez, Martinez Hernandez had a long record of violent criminal behavior. The murder of Rachel Morin may be the most horrifying murder in Maryland by an illegal immigrant in the last 15 years by someone who had no business being in the US or the State of Maryland.
In closing it should be no surprise that Maryland’s population increase has been “driven” by immigration migration. Like is was said in the movie Field of Dreams, “if you build it, they will come”… And Maryland is a State that has proven that to a “T” when it comes to illegal immigration, and the citizens of Maryland are paying for it…
