Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter’s reputation for dirty play only grew worse on Sunday when he appeared to gouge Buffalo Bills right tackle Spencer Brown’s eye during a win in Orchard Park.
With Buffalo in a short-yardage situation deep in Philadelphia territory, Carter not only got Brown’s eye with his right thumb, but also managed to slam his biceps into the Bills star’s throat.
‘Ouch,’ announcer Tom Brady said on the Fox broadcast. ‘He got eye gouged and throat slashed.’
Brown was briefly examined by trainers afterwards, although there was no flag on the play. The Eagles ultimately won, 13-12, after Bills quarterback Josh Allen failed to connect on a two-point conversion at the end of the fourth quarter.
Afterwards, Brown was seen jawing with Eagles players and he didn’t hold back with reporters in the locker room, either. Asked if he thought the gouge was an accident, Brown told WGRZ reporter Jonathan Acosta and others: ‘No, I don’t think so, but it was coming I guess.’
This was not Carter’s first incident of 2025. He was ejected six seconds into this season’s Week 1 opener for spitting at Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The NFL ultimately issued a one-game suspension and fined him $57,222.
No surprise here. The entire Eagles team are nothing but thugs and dirty players !
give me a break, 300 lb linemen firing off the line at the snap trying to get an edge and someone gets poked in the eye. things in the trenches are a lot worse then this. At least he wasn’t stomping on some guys head after the whistle. and lets not forget dak started it by spitting in his direction, but that dont count? total garbage reporting!
