Wicomico County Public Works is looking for a motivated Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of our community. This role is anything but monotonous. The Engineering Department works across every corner of the County, contributing to projects that impact roads, bridges, dams, stormwater systems, landfills, dredging operations, and so much more. Every day brings new challenges, new areas to explore, and new and exciting opportunities to make a lasting difference.
As part of the Engineering Division, you’ll provide technical expertise, review development plans, support public infrastructure projects, and work collaboratively with a wide range of County departments, contractors, consultants, and community members. This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and forward-thinking infrastructure that leads the County in positive new directions.
Ideal candidates will bring:
✔️ A degree in Civil Engineering or related field
✔️ EIT or PE certification (preferred)
✔️ Experience in stormwater, roadway design, hydraulics/hydrology, structures, or related disciplines
✔️ Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and engineering software
✔️ Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
✔️ A desire to contribute meaningfully to the growth and improvement of Wicomico County
If you’re looking for a dynamic role with purpose—one where no two days look the same—this is your opportunity.
Wow! Has the bird flew away?
You expect to get degree’d, certified, and qualified candidates for that salary…to work in this political sewer?!
As a degree’d, certified, and qualified candidate (for other types of jobs), I would want a minimum of $100K and a guaranteed 5 year contract to consider employment with the county.
Too much battling going on between the executive and the council – and they are from the same party.
The county is in cesspool mode! You have recently appointed middle managers with no qualifications who let druggies come in stoned and they are told from coworkers about it and do nothing.
