Gov. Wes Moore signed three memoranda of understanding between Maryland and state union leaders that pledge to raise wages and improve working conditions for firefighters and law enforcement.
Moore declared that these agreements “will make sure that we have greater pay parity across all of our state unions. These agreements will affirm our commitment to organized labor and to working people everywhere.”
Moore added that he respects those who help other citizens in times of need.
“I respect people that run towards the fire. I respect people that run towards the smoke. I respect people that are willing to do things that the vast majority of this population is not and we need to make sure that thank you for your service means something,” Moore said.
