At least seven people were injured during a mass shooting during a homecoming event at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania.
Police responded to calls about the shooting at the college about 50 miles west of Philadelphia at about 9:15pm on Saturday, ABC reported.
The seven confirmed victims all sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to Christiana Hospital in various conditions.
The Baltimore Pike roadway has been shut down as investigators probe the scene.
CBS reported that the shooting occurred near the university’s football field during a tailgate.
The Oxford Borough Police Department said there is not an active shooting at this time, adding that there are no suspects in custody. Officials have asked the public to avoid the area.
‘Law enforcement has responded to the scene and are actively investigating. Please avoid the area at this time. More updates will be released as information is confirmed,’ the Chester County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
Chester County Commissioner Eric Roe also addressed the situation in a Facebook statement.
