Trouble ahead for Ticketmaster? The U.S. Federal Trade Commission along with seven states has filed a lawsuit against the ticket selling platform and its parent, Live Nation Entertainment, for allegedly failing to curb bots and resellers. Ticketmaster doesn’t enforce its own purchase limits because it’s able to “triple dip” on fees when tickets are resold, the FTC claims — to the tune of $3.7 billion between 2019 and 2024. Live Nation shares fell as much as 3.5% on news of the lawsuit, their largest intraday drop since May.
