Went over to the Delmarva Shorebirds for Delmarva Bike Week on Friday and had a great time! Just kidding! Apparently Delmarva Bike Week in Wicomico County is another event if the past! What a shame that businesses and taxpayers lost all that revenue we had for 15 years or more?
Publishers Notes: Back in the day, early on with Bike Week I worked closely with Executive Culver to add an event at Winter Place Park for the very first time. Unlike the recent Jeep event, Bike Week brought in a TON of revenue for Wicomico County. I can assure you I will work closely with the event owner to bring Bike Week Wicomico back even if I have to host the event on one of my own properties. More to come…
This is very, very sad! Julie Giordano and Steve Miller has ruined the quality of life in Wicomico County. First off, Julie Giordano was crazy to re-appoint Steve Miller without doing her own investigation on this unqualified Parks, Recs and Civic Center. He has ruined everything he touched in Wicomico County.

*USSSA Eastern National Championships, he sent games to Worcester County when they should have all been in *Wicomico County.
*Pork In The Park
*Delmarva Chicken Festival
*The Salisbury Festival (Falls under Tourism)
*Delmarva Bike Week at the Delmarva Shorebird’s stadium.
*Concerts at the Civic Center. When was the last time that the Civic Center had a decent country music concert? When was the last time that there was a decent rock and roll concert at the Civic Center? The only thing going on for concerts is unknown “tribute bands.’ They are nothing but bar bands singing cover songs. If i wanted to see a bar band I would go to a bar and not have to pay a cover charge. Speaking of bars it was the introduction of selling beer and alcohol that ruined the Wicomico County YOUTH and Civic Center. Did it raise more revenue for Wicomico County? Absolutely NOT! I haven’t been in 8 or 9 years with my family.
*Tourism? What tourism do we have in Wicomico County? Nothing, absolutely nothing.
This is all the evidence that you need to prove that Julie Giordano has no clue how to run Wicomico County and no clue how to hire and appoint professional department heads. Steve Miller had a very low level position in the County before he was appointed and now he has a very high paying job and a take home car. Do yourself a favor and drive behind the Civic Center during a work day and look at how many county cars are parked back there. Look at how many employee cars are back there. What are all those full time employees doing in that building when the Civic Center is putting on concerts and other events. What happened to events like the Beast of the East?
What happened to the annual Assateague Mobile Sportfishermen’s Association show at the Civic Center? What is Steve Miller and the Civic Center and Tourism doing to bring events to the Civic Center and Wicomico County? Absolutely NOTHING! Why are we paying high taxes to employ all of those people at the Civic Center?
First Steve Miller kicked Delmarva Bike Week out of Winter Place Park and that place was always jam packed and always more packed than the Shorebirds Stadium. He blamed it on the promoters not wanting to be over there. That’s I lie, I spoke to the promoters. Miller never put up signs to direct people into Winterplace Park or the Shorebirds stadium. Bikers enjoyed riding between Ocean City and Wicomico County but Steve Miller was so lazy that he didn’t want to put any work into it.

Well said!! Terminate Charles Rousseau would be a great starting point at the Civic Center. Several good employees have parted ways because of this henchman. Just the Civic Centers 6 digit camera watcher. Detention center personnel in fact is the only labor in the whole building with supervisors being previous detention center inmates. Miller is a tide runner for people above and who are connected. All 3 departments are in total disarray with unqualified department heads hiring whatever walks thru the door and can pass a urine test on that day or they tell them to clean it up and come back it will be ok.
