Maryland Governor Wes Moore, whom many see as a rising Democrat star ahead of the 2028 election, repeatedly dodged continuing questions about his military awards.
Moore has been feuding with Donald Trump all week after the president threatened to send federal law enforcement to his state’s biggest city, Baltimore.
The president has previously called out Moore’s admission that he lied about getting a Bronze Star for his military service on a fellowship application, which the governor has called ‘an honest mistake.’
Fox News host Will Cain tried several times to get Moore to open up about the lie – which Trump said is ‘the end of his political career’ – in an interview on Thursday.
‘In 2006, on your application for a White House fellowship, you put on your application that you were the recipient of a Bronze Star. I believe also a Combat Action Badge. That was not true. You have apologized and said it was an honest mistake,’ Cain said.
‘The question, Governor, is why did you let it go on – even if it was a mistake – for years and years and years as you were celebrated as having a Bronze Star?’
Moore – who eventually was awarded a Bronze Star after becoming governor in 2024 – responded by repeating his combat resume while saying he’s ‘very proud of my service to this country.’
‘I think as anyone who has served in this country, if you look at what we were able to do overseas and the fact that I was recognized by the United States Army with both the Bronze Star and the Combat Action Badge, I think I’m not only proud of the service that I have done to this country and the fact that I was willing to put my life on the line, wearing the uniform of this country overseas, but I also know that the soldiers I served with are also proud,’ he said.

If I’m following this accurately:
He was in the army and deployed overseas and sought appointment to a position in The White House that’s basically used to broaden experience temporarily and get exposure in some aspects of government. Used by whatever party is in The White House. On the application he claimed he’d been awarded a Bronze Star. It appears, in the light of day, he’d been recommended for it but it had not yet been approved or awarded. So he submitted a false application. There’s a good chance the application fine print had a perjury clause for false information.
So he gets the White House gig but not the Bronze Star award, for whatever reason. For context, former mayor Jake Day actually got a Bronze Star for his work in Africa while activated there. Day’s Citation was published here IIRC and I’ll paraphrase that it was for ‘two days of hard work’. So two days of hard work can get an officer a medal. Those up the army food chain evidentially were not sufficiently impressed by Moore’s accomplishment/s to sign off on his anticipated medal. End of story….
Except that Moore was being cultivated for higher office in the Soros greenhouse. The lack of a medal wasn’t really a problem except for the falsehood on the White House application. Achilles heel in an aspirant for the national stage. Then a solution appeared. With no prior experience except being (D) he’s elected governor.
The officer who recommended Moore for the medal has apparently stated that he encouraged him to list the potential award on the application because it was going to be approved. I leave it to those with past military experience to discuss how that squares with policy & practice. Conveniently, that same officer is now in a high position in the Md National Guard and he awarded Moore a Bronze Star last year, 18 years after the fact.

while in the usmc I was told to apply for numerous awards for various tasks i completed. Upon seeing how those same awards were doled out to people who were ass kissers, I decided no way I wanted someone to think i was associated with them, Hence never applied and never wanted the awards. I know who I am and what I’ve done and what I’m capable of! I dont need a piece of paper and a ribbon from some organization to tell me I’m mr. wonderful! I dont need or have a “i love me wall”! I know who I am! Moore is just a pos loser posing as a leader!
