Trump names two Dem-run cities notorious for murders as next targets for his federal crime crackdown

Donald Trump was ready to expand his military crackdown into more Democratic cities on Sunday as Chicago was expected to receive National Guard troops and Baltimore was given a stark warning they would be next.

A US official told ABC News on Sunday that the Pentagon was planning to deploy troops to Chicago after Trump hinted that the Windy City would be the next target for a federal takeover following Washington DC.

Last week, Trump said he was considering Chicago and New York for troop deployments. The move would mimic the military action in the nation’s capital, where thousands of National Guard and federal law enforcement officers are patrolling the streets.

A spokesperson for the Pentagon said they would not ‘speculate’ on the Chicago deployment.

‘The Department is a planning organization and is continuously working with other agency partners on plans to protect federal assets and personnel,’ the Pentagon rep told The Daily Mail in a statement. ‘We won’t speculate on further operations.’

The White House directed The Daily Mail to Trump’s comments about the city earlier this week.

‘Chicago is a mess,’ Trump said. ‘You have an incompetent mayor — grossly incompetent. And we’ll straighten that one out probably next. That will be our next one after this, and it won’t even be tough.’

In addition, Trump was invited to join Democrat Maryland Governor Wes Moore in a tour of Baltimore.
