We moved to Florida 4 years ago and became Florida residents. About 18 months later we got a bill and a letter from Maryland wanting to know whjy we had not filed Maryland income tax forms last year. We told them we no longer lived in Maryland. We later discovered Maryland Comptrollers office had pulled our E-Z Pass records and also subpoened our credit card statements and our cell phone records to try to prove that we were not in Florida at least 180 days per year. They were hungry for out tax money, even though they did not deserve it
Wouldn’t be surprised to see this pass. Maryland has got to have the dumbest politicians in the whole country. No wonder so many people want to move

This tax would be withheld at the point of sale (settlement) so no way to combat not paying it.
