Interesting and correct. If you have the time, this is worth it as I believe Dr Phil has hit the nail on the head.
For those who don’t have the time, I’ll summarize – kids need all of their electronic gizmos about as much as another hole in the head. Kids are falling into deep depression and serious anxiety issues watching others “live” their lives, and then comparing themselves to these influencers.
Not only that, but their world view, political ideas, and just about everything else is shaped by their iPhone screens. This leaves them with a warped perspective on the world, and a shocking realization when they enter the “real” world, they find it is unlike any of their perceptions.
My children are grown and gone, but I would caution parents and echo Dr. Phil’s remarks to encourage natural play, exploration of their physical world, and interpersonal skills.
