ANNAPOLIS, MD — Governor Wes Moore today released the following statement regarding continued stakeholder and community engagement for the Catonsville Armory cannabis incubator project:
“Maryland is committed to promoting social equity in our state’s cannabis industry. The old Catonsville Armory site identified as the potential location for the nation’s first state-operated cannabis incubator is no exception. Through resource support and programming, the new facility will empower historically disadvantaged individuals and businesses to participate in the state’s burgeoning cannabis industry, which realized more than $1 billion in total sales in its first year.
“It is clear that continued community engagement will benefit both the proposed facility and the community. I have therefore directed the three agencies at the helm of this critical project—the Maryland Cannabis Administration, Maryland Department of General Services, and Maryland Economic Development Corporation—to engage further with the Catonsville community and promote a better understanding of the project’s purpose and merits. The Maryland Cannabis Administration will provide updates about scheduling.
“Together, we will continue to write a new chapter in the story of cannabis policy in America—one grounded in equity, partnership, and economic growth. These engagement sessions will serve that mission and help ensure more robust community input in the work ahead.”
This smells like a DEI initiative.
Write a new chapter for the Catonsville Armory and create a much needed facility to house homeless Veterans who fought for our freedom! Many businesses would be utilized to outfit the facility and provide a safe environment to house, work, and maintain programs for our deserving veterans! Put a flag on top this beautiful building to make Catonsville, Maryland and this country proud to support a Veteran House!
