New York City Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani is the Democrat Party’s nominee for New York City Mayor. Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo conceded before 11pm, making Mamdani the first Muslim to be nominated by a major party for NYC Mayor.
“Tonight was not our night” Cuomo said at the headquarters of the New York City carpenters union. “I’m very proud of the campaign that we ran.”
