New: Details of Minnesota Assassin’s Letter Revealed, and It’s Pretty Clear Why the Story Disappeared

Details about a letter written by Minnesota assassin Vance Boelter have been released, and they paint a much clearer picture of his state of mind and why he did what he did. They also give a pretty good indication of why this story disappeared from the news so quickly.

As RedState reported, Boelter killed State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband and also shot and wounded State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife. The shootings took place on Saturday (June 14), launching an expansive manhunt to catch the murderer. He was finally apprehended late Sunday evening

At the time, there was a lot of conflicting information about what may have motivated Boelter, with Republicans being broadly blamed by the press and Democrats because of who the targets were. Networks like MSNBC and CNN went so far as to directly point the finger at President Donald Trump. Yet, a letter that was found the day of the shootings in Boelter’s car points in a completely different direction.

According to the Star Tribune, Minnesota’s largest newspaper, Boelter believed he was operating under orders from Democrat Gov. Tim Walz, best known for his role as Kamala Harris’ running mate during the 2024 election.
