Trump Changes Weekend Schedule, Adds Sunday Meeting at Camp David with VP, Top Cabinet Officials

The White House announced a change in President Donald Trump’s weekend schedule Saturday, adding an overnight stop at Camp David on Sunday where Trump will meet Vice President J.D. Vance, senior cabinet officers and administration “principals”.

President Trump speaks with reporters on Air Force One while flying to Bedminster, New Jersey, screen image via White House video, June 6, 2025.

The meeting was described by a White House official in a statement to reporters Saturday that sought to downplay the sudden change in schedule: “On Sunday, the President will depart Bedminster and spend the night at Camp David before returning to the White House on Monday. The White House has organized what will become a regular off campus retreat of principals attended by the President and Vice President. They will meet on a number of issues and topics.”

CNN reported the Secretaries of State and Defense will be among those attending the ‘retreat’ (excerpt): “Attendees are expected to include Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, according to another person familiar with the meeting.”

Trump is spending the first part of the weekend at his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey where he arrived Friday evening.

  1. Call me crazy, but should it be put out for all to know that the President, VP and several other top officials are in a particular place, at a particular time. This world has gone nuts and I don’t think this information needs to be out for all the crazies to see.

  2. I can’t wait to watch our Army’s 250th Anniversary parade on tv 6:30 Sat night. Nothing wrong with being proud of our might military. 🤗🤗🤗
