Governor Moore Statement on Moody’s U.S. Credit Rating Downgrade

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Today, Governor Wes Moore released the following statement on Moody’s U.S. Credit Rating Downgrade:

“I am disappointed, but not surprised that the United States also received a Trump downgrade. The chaos from Washington that has wreaked havoc on our region is now impacting the entire nation. We in Maryland are showing that there’s a better way to govern.

“When faced with an historic fiscal challenge nearly a decade in the making, we turned a deficit into a surplus, gave the middle class tax relief, and reduced spending by over $2 billion–while continuing to invest in our people. This is while the federal government tanked the stock market, fired public servants for political gain, and chose ideological tariffs instead of a real economic growth plan. In Maryland, we will continue to work in partnership to set our state on a path to sustainable economic growth, despite this federal administration’s failure to do the same.”

  1. Dude, you have to stop drinking your own Kool-Aide !!!!
    ” we turned a deficit into a surplus, ”
I believe you got that backwards !!!!
Quit blaming President Trump. The state of Maryland has their own budget that you are destroying all on your own.

  2. Tax and Spend Moore – you are the worst Governor…ever! That’s even considering what Parris Glendenning did to this state!

You own this and should not be re-elected…or elected to any other position! You are not capable of handling as mundane a task as changing the mints in a urinal!
