“Two-Thirds Don’t Work” – CDU’s Merz Says “Many Of Them [Syrians Living In Germany] Must Go Back”

Germany’s Christian Democrat Union (CDU) candidate for chancellor Friedrich Merz says that Germany cannot accept more Syrians from Syria and that those Syrians who are not integrated should return to Syria.

Notably, Merz is pointing to the sky-high levels of unemployment among many of the country’s Syrian population. The chancellor candidate, during an appearance on ARD, said the “one-third” who “work and are integrated” in Germany can stay, “but the two-thirds do not work, they are overwhelmingly young men, many of them can go back, and many must go back.”

He said that a push to return many of these migrants must occur, saying:

“We must now speak very openly with them and say: You have no place in Germany in the long term… We have long been of the opinion that at least people could have returned to the north a long time ago, and now to other parts of the country as well.”

There are currently 1 million Syrians in the country, and those not working have become a major burden for German taxpayers. According to government data, 210,000 are employed, while 250,000 are currently “looking for work.” Another 150,000 are unemployed.

Following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s government, there is a European-wide push to return Syrians to their country; however, the ruling German government has expressed caution about the security situation in the country.

  1. I would like to do a couple of comparisons. Germany and the U.S.
Germany cannot accept more Syrians from Syria and that those Syrians who are not integrated should return to Syria. [ The U.S. can not accept more Immigrants from Mexico and those that are not intergraded should return to Mexico.]
There are currently 1 million Syrians in the country, and those not working have become a major burden for German taxpayers. [ Same over here but way over a million and not all are Mexicans. ]
The CDU under Merkel is responsible for most of the Syrians in Germany after Merkel gave the greenlight to allow them to settle in the country. Many of the Syrians in Germany have shown no interest in returning home.
[ Substitute Merkel for Biden. Substitute Syrians for Mexicans. Substitute Germany for the U.S. ]
Both the CDU and their sister party, the Christian Socialists (CSU), are pushing for rapid deportation of criminals.
[ Those that have crossed our border illegally are criminals and must be treated as such. Those that have committed crimes on our soil need to be deported. ]
2.54 million recipients of welfare benefits in Germany have a foreign background, making up 63% of the overall total. [ Don’t know “our” exact totals but we have all read about illegal aliens getting all kind of benefits using “our” dollars ]
But there is nothing to be shocked about. Knife crime in Germany is soaring, predominately due to mass immigration. [ Guess Germany needs to ban assault knifes ]
Germany has strict gun laws that regulate the acquisition, possession, and use of firearms:
Age: You must be at least 18 years old to own a gun.
Criminal history: You must not have a criminal history.
Psychological fitness: You must be psychologically fit, and applicants under 25 must also get a certificate of mental aptitude.
Knowledge test: You must pass a knowledge test that demonstrates your specialized knowledge of safe handling and use of firearms.
Personal suitability: You must prove your personal suitability, which includes showing reliability and personal aptitude.
Identification: You must identify yourself as a hunter, marksman, or gun collector.
Permit: You must obtain a permit to own a gun, which is called a weapons possession card (Waffenbesitzkarte).
Storage: You must store your weapon safely.
Registry: You are entered into a national registry.
Shooting ranges: You can only shoot at certified shooting ranges.
Hunting: You can only hunt in designated areas.
Magazines: Acquiring and possessing any magazine of any size for any firearm is legal without a license.
Prohibited firearms: Some firearms are prohibited in Germany and may only be owned by manufacturers, exporters, and, on rare occasions, collectors.
Carry permit: You can obtain a firearms carry permit (Waffenschein) to publicly carry your legally owned weapon.
Checks: The authorities conduct spot checks on gun owners to ensure they are adhering to the requirements. They also check every five years to see if there is justification for possession of a weapon.
Germany’s gun laws are considered among the strictest in the world.
