Exclusive — NYC Councilwoman Vickie Paladino on Daniel Penny Trial: ‘How Many Good Samaritans Is This Going to Turn Away’

New York City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino fears that the blatant targeting of Daniel Penny — the U.S. Marine veteran on trial regarding the chokehold death of Jordan Neely in New York City — will turn other good Samaritans away, making the remarks during a Thursday appearance on Breitbart News Daily.

“What stood out to me was how politicized the DA office is. She was a disgrace. She was a liar, she was despicable. She actually made it sound as if Daniel Penny had a mission to accomplish that day, and that was to kill poor, poor Daniel Neely,” Paladino said, referencing the mentally ill homeless man who allegedly screamed threats on a train in New York City, prompting Penny and others to intervene.

  1. Penny was found not guilty. Anyone who has ever ridden the NYC subway knows about the aggressive panhandlers. Penny is a hero. Sorry the guy died, but ….

    1. Have you never been to NYC? I lived there for over 10 years and never once experienced an “aggressive panhandler” on the subway.

      1. Then you should buy a lottery ticket. You gotta be the luckiest person on earth if you NEVER IN 10 YEARS riding the subway experienced and aggressive panhandler., OR, you only rode the subway once in those years !!!

        1. The only “aggressive” panhandle I ever encountered was the guy on the L Train that would play the saxophone very badly with a sign around his neck that said “Pay me to stop playing the sax.”

      2. So just because it didn’t happen right around you doesn’t mean it didn’t or doesn’t happen.
I’ve never been in a traffic accident or seen one happen, doesn’t mean they don’t happen.

      3. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who never should have brought charges against former Marine Daniel Perry in the first place.
But it’s not the first time Bragg has failed his office. Indeed, since Day 1, the district attorney has been a walking disaster for the city.
        He needs to go.
Consider: Violent crime is up and continues to rise, and his “Day 1” promises to “make us safer” by reducing enforcement and punishment have backfired spectacularly.
Look at the subways if you want an obvious cause-and-effect demonstration of the failure of Bragg’s policies.
He vowed to stop prosecuting fare beaters, essentially telling the cops to stop arresting them.
Since he took office, there have been 25 murders in the subways, following decades when the average was one or two a year.
And there you go Anonymous December 9, 2024 at 6:29 pm. Just because you may not have seen or been apart of it. It did and does happen

  2. If jordan neely had been civilized, not threatening people and not causing disturbances, he would probably still be alive today. Mr Daniel Penny deserves an award.
