“The Wicomico County Executive and Her “Great Working Relationship” with Maryland Governor Wes Moore”

Giordano says she’ll be a frequent flyer in the Governor’s office, working to get state support for peninsula priorities.

“An Executive has such a great working relationship, and has that inner ability to talk to the governor and his staff,” Giordano said. And, I think that’s important, and I think [voters] saw that.”

What the Executive said after the election, and was victorious against Question A.

Then We saw The State of Maryland and the Moore Administration so sorry no money for the Civic center, and Fruitland Primary in Wicomico County due to the $2 Billion Dollar plus record deficit the State of Maryland is running, worst financial shape the State has been in, in 20 years.

At the County’s CIP meeting Maryland State Delegate Barry Beauchamp announced the State was broke, and if the County wanted Fruitland Primary and a Park at Connelly Mill, that they probably needed to “Increase” property taxes to pay for these things. Well the State of Maryland has already Increased Taxes and Fees over the past 2 years to the tune of over $400 Million Dollars on Maryland’s Small Businesses and Working Families, with the reality of more tax increases coming from the State in the 2025 session in Annapolis due to the States terrible financial conditions.

During the 2024 election on Question A, the Anti Question A group said the Executive Position, would be a “voice for the people to stand up against Tax Increases for the people of Wicomico County.” A message peddled by the Executives top “news propagandist” Earl Campbell the Owner of Eastern Shore Undercover.

“From a personal standpoint, I’m not sure I can afford for my taxes to be raised like they were many years ago, before there was an Executive Form of Government and before there was someone who could veto those outlandish decisions made by the county council. So, I fight relentlessly for this position because I so firmly believe in having that voice.” Earl Campbell / Eastern Shore Undercover 10/21/24

We saw in the last Wicomico County Council meeting Steve Miller the head of Parks and Rec and Pam Oland the County’s finance director say on the 11th of October of 2024, they knew there was a problem with State funding for the Civic Center project, so it seems by mid October internally the Executive and her inner allies knew there were big problems coming out of Annapolis financially.

Yet the Executive, Carl Anderton, Bunky Luffman, Earl Campbell of Eastern Shore Undercover, and Delegate Barry Beauchamp advocated all of October through election day in November that Governor Moore had Wicomico’s back because of their “great working relationship”. The Executive had mailers made and signs made with the Governor on them. Also saying the Executive would fight to protect the County from more Tax Increases in a TV Ad that was produced.

Well it’s seems on October 11th they knew this farce, wasn’t a reality in anyway shape or form, but peddled the message to defeat question A.

The voters of Wicomico County should be reminded about all of this until next election…. The Executive and her allies lied and deceived the voters of Wicomico County, talk about a major lack of transparency…

  1. Hopefully, after all this consternation, we will enact term limits and NOT re-elect queen Julie!
While she has her agenda – that is not aligned with the betterment of the citizens of the county, too many of the council members have their own as well…and the county / citizens suffer for it!

    1. This is for both the city and county councils. It always seems that the developers and builders get a rubber stamp on anything they want.
To me, the Ross building is just an ugly eye sore in downtown Salisbury. You put a brand new building amongst historic buildings.
And now the city wants to put up a new hotel and convention center in downtown .
Why not use the vacant lot across the street from the civic center ?
Who actually owns that lot ?
Who really knows where the city stops and the county starts in some areas. And that also goes for the state when it comes to road improvements. Is it a city street, county road or state road ?

  2. Keep running this Joe weekly so citizens do not forget it. Funding studies for parks in this county should be halted NOW! The county can not keep up with the old and failing infrastructure of the older and some of the newer parks now. West Metro and Connelly Mill both need to be put on the back burner until the county passes several of the older parks on the Westside to the City of Salisbury and let them foot some of the bill along with Les Moores Marijuana proceeds. They are in the city and should be maintained by the city. Several local incorporated towns have took over parks that Wicomico oversaw and funded for years now its the City of Salisburys turn to do the same.

  3. Keep pumping million$ into that stupid airport. I just saw last week there’s a big UMES Aviation sign on the front offices of the Piedmont Airlines hangar. I’ve heard that Piedmont is now using only one hangar for maintenance. That’s an indication that Piedmont will be leaving Salisbury once the new Embraer 175 replaces all the current fleet of aircraft. What a bunch of fools.

  4. is united airlines sponcering umes aviation

Yes, United Airlines is sponsoring the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s (UMES) aviation program:
    Partnership
On November 21, 2024, UMES and United Airlines announced a partnership to help students and instructors pursue careers as professional pilots.
    Path to careers
The partnership provides a direct path for UMES aviation students to pursue careers with United Airlines. Students can apply to United’s Aviate program, and if accepted, they will receive a conditional job offer as a United Airlines pilot.
Could United Airlines / United Express be the major announcement [ not yet made ] of a possible new airline coming to the Salisbury Airport [ KSBY ] ?
If United Airlines is at UMES, it only makes sense that they have a maintenance training and some sort of flight school at KSBY. Could we be seeing one of the follow flying out of KSBY ?

    United Express fleet
    CommuteAir Embraer ERJ
    GoJet Airlines Bombardier CRJ550
    Mesa Airlines Embraer 175
Republic Airways Embraer 170 Embraer 175
SkyWest Airlines Bombardier CRJ200 Bombardier CRJ700 Embraer 175

As of 2023, five airlines remain as United Express feeder carriers: CommuteAir, GoJet, Mesa Airlines, Republic Airways, and SkyWest Airlines. Most of these carriers now have routes spanning the entire United States with regional jets. SkyWest serves a number of small cities that are subsidized by the federally funded Essential Air Service program as well as other local and state governments.[15]
    Makes one wonder ?????
