An Act of Desperation by Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano A Mail Piece to Democrats with Maryland Democrat Governor Wes Moore on It

Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano this week, in a effort to get Democrat support against Question A sent out a mail piece showing her good working relationship, with Maryland Governor Wes Moore, interesting enough the quote used from the Governor wasn’t about Question A at all, it was from a ceremony at the airport in Salisbury last week about the runway extension.

Giordano who is a Republican, and campaigned in 2022 as a “Conservative” Republican who supports Donald Trump, went to a fundraiser of his in October of 2022 at Mara Lago , then this summer she attended the RNC convention as a Trump Delegate, and is even a founding member of the group the Delmarva Conservative Movement. a group that was started because of the frustration with Republican leaders on the shore not being “Conservative Enough”.

Now showing her alliance with a Democrat Governor who in just 2 years “evaporated” a surplus he inherited, then his administration has increased Taxes & Fees to the tune of over $400 Million Dollars on Maryland’s Small Businesses & Working Families, Moore and his Administration this past year cut over a $1Million Dollars from Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury taking money from poor struggling community college students, Moore’s Administration this year cut nearly $6 Million Dollars from Public Safety Programs across the State making Maryland less safe, & Governor Moore and his Administration cut nearly $3 Million Dollars from the Rural Maryland Council this year, so will see what Delegate Cornbread will actually be able to do for “Rural Maryland” brother. The Moore Administration is trying to regulate traditional energy companies out of Maryland, and forcing with huge State subsidies to build Windmills for energy in Delaware for the State, get ready for energy rates to go through the roof. Lastly the Moore Administration has commited Billions of Maryland’s tax dollars to build the Red Line in Baltimore City a “Boondoggle” project that will cost Billions to build and Millions to maintain that the vast majority of citizens will not use or ride. Then it appears when Governor Moore has run up big tabs on the taxpayers dime with “Boondoggle” Wind & Transit projects he will split town to run for President, leaving hard working Marylander’s holding the bag….

I guess all of that sounds well and good to a so-called Republican / Conservative County Executive Giordano, who this year tried to lie and deceive the public, and Sheriff Lewis by giving away a police encrypted radio to a biased internet blogger who gave her a $3500 dollar campaign donation, then threatened an elected Sheriff in print, on a Friday night while the Sheriff was on vacation. Apparently the Governor is a whole lot of fun at Ravens games in his suite, so I guess that makes him a “Great Leader” according to the County Executive….

I hope Republicans in Wicomico County see this for it is. This November Vote, and Vote Yes for Question A so Wicomico County can rejoin the 78% of Counties in the Delmarva Peninsula, that stems across 3 States that do not have an elected Executive position currently….

  1. Phillips 66 is shutting down its Los Angeles refinery next year, just days after California passed a law forcing refineries to stockpile fuel to prevent price spikes. Experts warn this will likely increase prices instead. Despite Phillips 66 claiming the closure isn’t related, analysts believe it’s a response to California’s increasingly hostile regulations towards the oil industry.
Governor Newsom argues the law will save consumers money, but California already has the highest gas prices in the country, thanks in part to strict fuel regulations. Experts also highlight how California’s dependency on foreign oil creates national security risks. The closure is part of a trend, with other oil companies exiting the state, frustrated by punitive laws that treat the industry as an enemy.
What is right coast California going to follow up with ?
Maryland seems to follow what Newsom does to a certain extent .
Why isn’t this story about Phillips 66 and California a news worthy article here ?

    1. Because I couldn’t care less about what happens in California. Just because this topic is important to you and your assuming Maryland will follow whatever California does is new to me.

      1. Biden closed down the Keystone pipeline. It was a very news worthy story. Jobs lost and it happened in the midwest.
California started the ban on ICE sales. Maryland and several other states are following suit.
This isn’t necessarily about California but more about closing an oil refinery.
Does the US have enough oil refineries?
No. A combination of factors is responsible for the United States’ loss of refining capacity. Choices to convert or shutter refineries are made very carefully—factoring in present and projected future fuel demand, the political environment as well as facility locations and their individual market access.
When a refinery shuts down due to a hurricane, gas prices go up.
When a refinery shuts down due to changing from summer blend to winter blend and vise versa, gas prices go up.
I just thought that the story had all the interesting ” tag lines ” Gas prices, refinery closing, lose of jobs, democratic governor.

      2. Attorney General Eric Schmitt of Missouri, who opposes the strict California rules, said last week the Biden administration gave “California the go-ahead to set ‘green’ manufacturing standards, which in reality, crush the average American who is already facing astronomical prices at the pump.”
Biden has set a goal of 50% of new-vehicle sales being electric or plug-in electric by 2030, but has not endorsed a date to phase out gasoline-vehicle sales.
The states that have adopted the California standards are: Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico (2011 model year and later), New York, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington (2009 model year and later), as well as the District of Columbia. Such states are frequently referred to as “CARB states” in automotive discussions because the regulations are defined by the California Air Resources Board.
I see Maryland and Delaware following California’s standards.
What California enacts can and might just affect what other states in the union wiil do.
California wants to shut down / close refineries. What if New Jersey decides to do the same ? What affect will that have on gas prices around here.
Maryland’s use of petroleum, including gas and fuel oil, is the fourth lowest in the country. Since Maryland does not produce or refine petroleum, it is supplied via tanker ships and the Colonial Pipeline, which runs from the Gulf of Mexico to the New York area.
Sorry that this is cut and paste, but it is the easiest way to get my point across.

  2. She is showing her true colors by aligning with that Mooron!

She is not the correct person for the job. Let us hope that a viable candidate runs against her next time.
