One of the biggest topics currently on the Eastern Shore is, should we continue on with a county executive form of government. Hopefully this link helps voters understand the other side. As for SBYNews, we take no side on this matter at this time. I am simply seeing only one side and think it is only fair to show another side to balance things out. Personalities and politics have been the main issue here.
First, we had a Democrat as the Executive and the council fought the political ideals.
Next, we had a Republican as the Executive and the council was accused of undermining the executive who felt he had more power.
Now, we have a MAGA executive acting like a dictator that should be rubber stamped by the council.
Unlike the federal system, the county’s charter doesn’t clearly delineate the rights, responsibilities, and checks/balances in place.
The council retains some members and ideas from pre-executive days showing the need for term-limits and more detailed responsibilities in the charter. Yes, we have a couple of new faces in the council chambers and they are trying to balance the power with common-sense.
My opinion:
Neither the council nor the executive should have complete control.
Term-limits need to be in place for the executive and legislative portions.
More details as to rights, responsibilities, and processes need to be added to the charter.
Too late….We’ve had TWO charter revisions and the the problems have gotten worse….the only people who want to keep the position are the ROACHES around Giordano and the MIKE DUNN FAKE DAY WOKE DEVELOPER CROWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The corruption and insane policies that have been the “norm” from Rick Pollitt to Giordano could fill a phone book…no where else on the shore has this stupid executive system and ask any worker out there about how good its going…I was too young to vote back in 2004 but soon enough me, my wife and my daughter are all gonna vote out this dumbass position as we also vote out this KAMALALALALA clown…..YES/FOR getting rid of this thing all the way…..
