House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) has formally called on President Joe Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, to appear for a transcribed interview.
According to reports shared by Oversight Committee on Sunday, July 7, 2024, the interview aims to delve into Dr. O’Connor’s medical assessments of President Biden and his potential involvement in the Biden family’s business activities, particularly concerning Americore Health, LLC, and James Biden, the President’s brother. Chairman Comer’s request follows growing concerns about President Biden’s health and cognitive abilities.
These concerns were amplified after a debate performance against former President Donald Trump on June 27, which many observers found troubling. Comer highlighted a February assessment by Dr. O’Connor stating that President Biden is “a healthy, active, robust 81-year-old-male, who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency.”
This assessment has been called into question, especially in light of reports that Dr. O’Connor has never recommended a cognitive test for the President. The Oversight Committee is particularly interested in Dr. O’Connor’s connections to the Biden family’s business dealings.
