Boundary Street, Salisbury. This needs to be addressed by Salisbury and Wicomico County. This has happened before and it will continue unless measures are taken. It seems ridiculous that volunteers are out cleaning up trash when this is allowed to continue.
According to the map, the road is city and county property and whatever it is really shouldn’t matter because this needs a combined effort by both jurisdictions.

The property is between Salisbury Scrap Metal (the attack dogs sign is on their fence) and Eagle Recycling.
This trash not only needs to be cleaned up from both sides of the fences, but the property on both sides of the road needs to be raked to pick up everything.
How will this be handled, Wicomico County Executive Office and City of Salisbury, Maryland?
The city can’t maintain their traffic signals either. Even though they have the laser sensors/loops most are on a timed cycle. Long waits when no vehicles present at the Mt. Herman Road/Main Street/Truitt Street/Williams Street signal and the Eastern Shore Drive/South Blvd signal. Also, the north side of the Snow Hill Road bridge over the Wicomico River has settled and there has been a bump there for a while. Why aren’t these being fixed?
I have cleaned up trash myself from Massey crossing rd near the Pocomoke river which is also a site people throw trash and dump, I call the roads department, and nothing is done
Nothing will be done with Lee and Billy gone and a sby friend of Lankford in charge who is nothing but a building inspector but is in the “Lankford loop”!
The roads department anymore is a 2 year stepping stone for the S.H.A.
Lee was wonderful! I called him on several occasions and whatever the problem was, he got right on it and the situation was taken care of pronto! He will be missed!
Wasted money from the Jake Day Administration. Bike lanes,Unity Square, selling properties dirt cheap to friends of friends, etc and the list goes on.
Right, the city of Salisbury and Wicomico County government both suck. But none of you will do anything about it because you’re losers and lazy, and you’re just whining complaining little bee-atches. Maybe you might try to run for public office and REALLY get involved instead. But you won’t. Because it’s so easy to complain, but it’s really hard to do the work and fix things. Or even get elected. To the winners go the spoils.

If i does not involve Alcohol, The Airport, The quarry or tipping fees or carrying a handgun in a county park it will be passed over like everything else. Speaking of that handgun bill can someone please help James Winn learn how to read! He stumbled thru reading the bill and it was a plus for county taxpayers to see what they have elected. Maybe the County should ask the U-Haul to provide vehicles to pick up the trash since they are using then North Salisbury School parking lot to park their trucks in. Is parking on school property open to everybody?
What about the message boards on Rt 13 by downtown that have announced a new traffic pattern by 6/24/24. Guess they forgot to put 2124 in the date.
What’s a C&C permit?
Maybe the county can have the business that has been parking trucks in the North Salisbury School parking lot pick up the trash as compensation for parking there? What are the fees for using the parking lot, or do they park here without permission?
I find the city provides little to no resources, for getting rid of larger objects.
But they will send a truck to retrieve bags of leaves….
I have resided in other communities that have roving stake-body trucks that pick up large objects, more than twice a year.
1 community makes an event of it, curb your discards sunday, and roving neighbors pick thru it before the trucks arrive Monday.
Salisbury needs to do better and focus on the whole community.
Money spent on useless fluff, like the unused food truck parking pad should have been used for more important services.
You can have trash cans downtown but no where else?
Household garbage usually isn’t put in contractor sized identically tied trash bags.
Looks like an eviction that the landlord didn’t bother to dispose of properly.

County officials said this rate, known as the tipping fee, is currently the lowest in the tri-county area so it is being raised to make it more competitive. Tipping fees help pay for “cells,” how trash is compacted, at the landfill; Wicomico put in 2.5 cells about three years ago for $8 million. “We’ve already almost filled up one of them,” Albero said. “We see over 300 trucks (at the landfill) any given day and we are open six days a week.”
So, low rates, trash from who know where, cells full.
How is that a service to the community?
Where are 300 trucks a day coming from?
Why are we giving our resources away at the expense of the taxpayer, so now the taxpayer has to pay more?
Make it make sense.
What about this, use a work detail from ECI or WCDC ?
These convicts have nothing better to do with their time. Put them to work making commissary money.
