The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is scoping the following possible regulatory changes:
- Anne Arundel — Chesapeake Bay — Western Shore (Oyster Creek)
- Anne Arundel — Magothy River North Shore — Broad Creek
- Anne Arundel County — Severn River Vessel Management Area — Severn River South Shore (Cove of Cork)
- Anne Arundel — South River North Shore (Aberdeen Creek)
- Anne Arundel — Whitehall Bay — Whitehall Creek
- Calvert County — Patuxent River North Shore — Hellen Creek
- Calvert County — Patuxent River North Shore — Mill Creek
- Somerset County — Annemessex River – Daugherty Creek Canal — Janes Island State Park
- Talbot County — Miles River — Hunting Creek
- Worcester County — Ocean City — Back Bay Areas — Canals and Inlets (Fenwick Ditch)
During the scoping process, the department gathers suggestions and ideas from stakeholders and others about how to solve a fishery problem or address a need. The goal of scoping is to identify issues, potential impacts, and reasonable alternatives associated with the issues so that management actions can be developed.
