Why fatal police shootings are NOT declining

When Dexter Reed died in a shootout with Chicago police on March 21, the incident was quickly grafted onto a narrative that began in 2014 after a policeman killed Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. – namely, that the U.S. faces an epidemic of violence by unbridled cops who do not believe black lives matter. “Killing of Dexter Reed raises questions about Chicago police reform. ‘The message is, go in guns blazing,’” blared a headline in the Chicago Sun-Times.

Reed’s death joins a long list of police shootings that have received wide media coverage and political scrutiny – especially those involving African Americans. Over the years, many police departments embraced reforms, including the use of bodycams, to document incidents – an effort bolstered by a public eager to use smartphones to record the behavior of cops. In 2015, the Washington Post created a database logging every person shot dead by police in the U.S.

The belief was that this attention would make all law enforcement officers, especially the bad ones, think twice before pulling the trigger, and significantly reduce the number of shootings – which stood at 994 the year Brown was shot.

  1. Because no one holds them accountable, even when the council or chief fires them, you have the union poke their head in and try to undo the firing, and then on top of that you have the ass cheek sucking bootlickers, who defend these pieces of shit sorry excuse for human beings, at all cost. You know the uneducated ones who say, play stupid games and win stupid prizes. Or the ones who say you deserve what they do to you, even though 75% of the time cops do this crap to innocent people too, and the proof to that is in all of the lawsuits settles at the taxpayers expense. Just look at California, who spends millions, if not a billion of taxpayer money to pay people done wrong by cops.

I mean look at the one cop who shot at a guy handcuffed in his own patrol car, that the cop put there after searching twice, then an acorn-47 went off and he and his sarg started just shooting. But these are the incompetent cops you all defend. So that is why i can’t wait until one of your friends or family members gets done wrong or better yet murdered by these thugs you all bootlick for.

What does it tell you, when cops have to build bullet and bomb proof buildings over doing the same for kids schools, that actually get shot up and have active shooters happen? But remember everything is for the kids! Even not protecting them like they do cops.
