Photos: 13,000 Homes Are Available in Dem-Run Baltimore Starting at $1 – Would You Buy One?

Housing prices may be ridiculous all over America, but in Baltimore, Maryland, they’re paying people to take houses — literally — and folks still aren’t interested.

With over 13,000 vacant homes in the city, many abandoned due to high rates of violent crime, Baltimore is now selling some of these properties for as little as $1 to individuals, community land trusts and nonprofits, according to the Daily Mail.

The program, passed by Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, is aimed at reviving struggling neighborhoods by incentivizing buyers to purchase and rehabilitate vacant homes. The city currently owns close to 1,000 of these properties, and around 200 of them are up for sale through the new “Fixed Pricing Program.”

  1. Rehabbing a single dwelling at a time by potential homeowners won’t work. Not only is it risky in a dozen ways, it’s like fixing one tooth in a rotting smile – it won’t save the bones. Nothing can make it happen other than big money, and they’re smarter than that. Democrats will find a way to screw it up even more and pass the cost on to you and me.

  2. What an opportunity for palmer gillus. Just maybe he can get a grant from Baltimore City to redeveloped all them 13,000 houses, and move into one of them.

    1. At least with their fancy drawings and blueprints, they would try to convince you that’s what it would look like. We know it would just be another slum lord neighborhood like Da Bury., but they would have you believe it was going to be a beautiful place where you could make tens of thousands of dollars for your meager investment.

  3. Maybe Kitzrow and Jake Day can transport some of this $hit that is backpacking and buming all over Salisbury up there and make it little Mexico and little Hattie.
