NY Sends An Innocent Man to Prison Over His Second Amendment Rights

Taylor’s case is one of many efforts to push the populace into an alternative registry.

I spoke with Dexter Taylor in February about his case wherein the state of New York charged him with a felony for legally building his own firearm for his own personal enjoyment, a perfectly legal action per existing federal law.

Taylor, an innocent man with no criminal record, was not selling his personal builds. He was not selling guns, at all. Because he was not selling the guns he built, he was not required to serialize them (previously a manufacturer’s way of monitoring product until the government saw an opportunity). This didn’t matter. The ATF and NYPD raided his home and arrested him any way. The tracked his financial records to credit card purchases for legal firearms parts that he legally ordered for his legal build.

  1. I am sure many other like myself are curious in the details as to why authorities were looking at his credit card purchases in the first place.
