Crime surge in Baltimore’s Southeast District: Three homicides reported in 24 hours

Three homicides in the past 24-hours have left many residents in Baltimore’s Southeast District on edge.

The latest shooting happened in Butcher’s Hill just before five Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators say a 33-year old man was gunned down while walking along Chester Street.

“It was a group of people in a vehicle that pulled up and got out and confronted the victim.” said Arch McKown, a community leader who tracks crime in the area.

McKown says the group fired several rounds at the victim and sped away.

He died moments later at the hospital.
