‘That’s Not Empathy, That’s Reprehensible’- Biden Slammed for Bringing Up Beau to Grieving Parents

According to a report by Newsmax on Friday, February 2, 2024, President Joe Biden has been criticized by former military officials and the family of a fallen soldier for mentioning his son Beau’s death while offering condolences to the victims of a drone strike in Jordan.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Biden called the family of Sgt. Kennedy Sanders, a 24-year-old Army Reservist from Waycross, Ga., who was killed along with 12 other U.S. service members and dozens of civilians in a terrorist attack at a Jordanian air base last weekend.

Biden told her parents, Shawn Sanders and Oneida Oliver-Sanders, that their daughter would be posthumously promoted from specialist to sergeant, and also brought up his own experience of losing his son Beau, who died of brain cancer in 2015 after serving in Iraq.

However, the family was not comforted by Biden’s words, but rather felt insulted and angry.

Shawn Sanders told the newspaper that Biden’s comparison was “inappropriate” and “disrespectful”, and that he did not want to hear about Beau, but about his daughter.
