Microsoft Buys Over 1,000 Acres of Farmland in Wisconsin

Microsoft Corp has just finalized its purchase of over 1,000 acres of farmland in Racine County, Wisconsin.

The 1,000 acres were part of three transactions totaling nearly $176 million.

Microsoft’s final transaction was the purchase of 407 acres, which included a  pumpkin farm and a 9-acre corn maze in Mount Pleasant.

The massive land purchase is part of Microsft’s plan to invest nearly $1 billion in a data center in Mount Pleasant.

  1. The price of whatever they grow there just went up.
Do they know how much it costs to heat a building in Wisconsin winters?

  2. Because that couldn’t be done in a city with outmigration and a ton of empty buildings? Rural America and our farmland is under attack. Pay attention and stop this nonsense.

  3. Data centers are being built all over the country to store information on all of us. There are plans in the works right now to build one in Buckystown, on the site of the retired East Alco Aluminum plant just a few miles south of Frederick MD
