Electric Vehicle Manufacturers Forced to Slash Prices as Consumers Send a Clear Message

Demand for electric vehicles is on the slide.

The Wall Street Journal reported that amid a decline in the sales of electric vehicles, manufacturers and sellers are resorting to price cuts and other incentives to help reduce the buildup of unsold cars.

“I think there was a miscalculation about demand and how much EVs would be coveted,” said Joseph Yoon, an Edmunds analyst.

Certain manufacturers, including Hyundai Motor and Ford Motor, are promoting cash-back offers that reach up to $7,500 for select vehicles. Ford also reduced the price of its Mustang Mach-E SUV.

Other companies have opted to offer generous leasing options, including cheaper installments and shorter lease lengths.

Tesla has also cut prices across its lineup, with starting prices on some models down by around a third.

    1. They sure are! Yesterday, there were only 40 provisional ballots to be verified and counted and now there are 80 more mail-ins (and more still coming in?) to be counted next Friday! WTF??? My first question is: Why weren’t those 80 counted yesterday? And second question is: Why are there more ballots coming in? If they were not received by Nov. 7, they should not count, regardless of a damn postmark!

        1. You are correct. However, the initial results were known before 11:59 PM on the 7th. What would stop someone from dropping off a load of ballots at the post office in Salisbury before midnight? We know that democrats will stop at nothing to get their way and we know that the WCBOE is made up of dems (as well as our post office). I wonder if our post office has video surveillance cameras? I wonder if a FOIA request is in order? Hopefully the initial results will stand and Salisbury can get it’s fiscal house in order.

  1. The technology is NOT quite ready!
They need longer range – and faster recharge times….

Some of the racing demos have a battery pack that is replaceable in minutes – that level of standardization would solve the recharge problem…..
